If you see incorrect status messages on your LRGS saying that your DCP messages are received on the wrong channel, late, early, or unexpected; and yet you have verified that the PDT (Platform Description Table) entry in DADDS is correct. It may be that your LRGS has an out of date PDT download file.
The LRGS can do its own schedule checking using downloaded PDT files from NOAA. Start your rtstat program, connect as an administrator with a password, bring up the configuration dialog and click the "Archive" tab. You should see something like the following:
Notice the stuff right in the middle: Enable Schedule & Channel Validation is CHECKED. That means the LRGS
will download the PDT (Platform Description Table) and CDT (Channel
Description Table) once per day. The next two fields are the URLs that
it will use to download. Make sure your URLs exactly match what is shown above.
If they did NOT match, then that probably is the whole problem. Correct
the URLs and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise, read on ...
Login to your LRGS and cd to the directory where the LRGS software is installed.
Issue the command:
ls -l pdt*
You'll see a file "pdt" which is the merged copy it is using and several
files with date-stamps on them, like "pdt.130509" for May 9, 2013.
What is the most recent downloaded snapshot you have? If it is very old then your system probably is having trouble downloading.
The most likely problem is in October 2011, DADDS started using a server certificate from an authority not recognized by Java.
Attached is a HOW-TO PDF Document describing how to install the DADDS certificate in your Java Key Store. Unfortunately this is not an easy operation (It's security related!) If you are uncomfortable with Unix/Linux system administration, please contact your administrator or your LRGS vendor.
