Downloading eFresh & VMAC onto the Verifone Vx510 Terminals (No Applications Installed)

Downloading eFresh & VMAC using the (Terminal ID) onto the Verifone Vx510 Terminals Running No Applications.

To Download eFresh, you must use the Terminal ID that has been assigned by Now Prepay.


Step 1 - How to Determine if VMAC is Running?


1. Have the Customer POWER OFF the Terminal.

2. Wait 10 Seconds and then POWER ON the Terminal.

3. Have the customer watch the Terminal screen to see if “VMAC” appears. If VMAC appears, then DO NOT PROCEED ANY FURTHER WITH THIS DOWNLOAD and contact Vendtek I.T. for Support. If no VMAC appears, then continue.


Step 2 - Downloading Process:


1. Press the (F2 & F4) keys at the same time and the (Sys Mode) password prompt will appear. Enter in (1, alpha, alpha 66831) and press Enter.

2. Scroll down using the down arrow key and select (Download).

3. The File Group will appear, enter in (File Group.1) and press Enter.

4. Enter in the password (1, alpha, alpha, 66831) and press Enter.

5. Select (Multi-App).

6. Select (Full).

7. If a existing application exists under (Group.1), a prompt will appear (Warning: All files will be Cleared from Group 1). Select (Continue) to resume and the Terminal will remove the existing application and prepare Group.1 to accept a new download. If no applications exists on the Terminal, this message will not appear.

8. Select (Modem).

9. The (Parameter) *ZP Host Phone Number will appear, enter in (18773150058) and press Enter.

10. The (Parameter) *ZT Terminal ID will appear, enter in the (Terminal ID) and press Enter.

11. The (Parameter) *ZA Application ID will appear, enter in (*MA) and press Enter.

12. Select (Start) to begin the Download.

13. The Terminal will now contact Vericentre and begin to download eFresh into Group.7 and VMAC into Group.1.

14. During the download process you will notice a group of Asterisks/Stars appearing indicating the Terminal is downloading.

15. Once the Download completes, press Enter and the Terminal will reboot and load directly into eFresh.

16. Confirm that eFresh 8.0.11 has been downloaded, by doing the following steps:

- Login as a Manager using (54321) and press Enter.

- A message will appear, (Terminal Not Initialize), press (Enter) and select (Menu).

- Scroll down using the down arrow key and select (About).

- Confirm version 8.0.11 is running. If eFresh 8.0.11 is not running, the download was not a success and you will need to try again. Proceed to Step - 2.

17. Proceed to Authenticate & Product Download.

18. While at the (About) option, select the (Red Cancel) key.

19. Scroll up using the up arrow key and select (Updates).

20. Select (Wizard).

21. Select (Yes) to accept the Vendtek Agreement.

22. Enter the (Kindex) and press Enter.

23. Enter the (UTK) and press Enter.

24. Enter the (Terminal ID) and press Enter.

25. The Phone Number will appear, press Enter.

26. The Prefix will appear, press Enter.

27. The Suffix will appear, press Enter.

28. The Terminal will contact the Server and begin the Authentication/Product Download process. Have the customer confirm on the Terminal screen, if the Product Download Counting has begun. (For example: 1 of 200)


VeriCentre Download Error Codes:


Error Code 110 – TERM NOT CONFGD

1.The Terminal ID may not be available or set up properly in the File Build on Vericentre.

2.Check to ensure you have entered the Terminal ID correctly into the terminal.

If you continue to receive this error after updating the Terminal ID, please contact Now Prepay Customer Service for additional support.

Error Code 118 – APPL NOT CONFGD

The Application ID is incorrect and does not match the ID available on VeriCentre. Please check that you’ve entered the Application ID correctly. If you need to change the Application ID, proceed to Step – 5.  

If you continue to receive this error after updating the Application ID, please contact Now Prepay Customer Service for additional support.

Error Code 216 – TIME-OUT OCCURRED

The Server and Terminal experienced a longer connection delay and were unable to connect. Try the Download again as the Server may have been busy to accept the call. Proceed to Step – 2.

Error Code 122 – DOWNLOAD FAILED

The communication between the Terminal & Server suddenly terminated while the download was in progress. Please retry the download again. Proceed to Step – 2.

Error Code: - 000 - NO CARRIER

A routing problem has been detected and the Terminal is not able to Reach the Vericentre Server. It's recommended to use the following alternative number (1-877-276-8944). You will need to edit the parameter (*ZP) and change the value. Proceed to Step - 5.


Step 3 - Deleting Groups 1 & 7 Entries: (Removing eFresh & VMAC Applications)

(Use the Steps below if you Need to Remove a existing Application from a Group)


Deleting File Group.1:

1. Press the (F2 & F4) keys at the same time and the (Sys Mode) password prompt will appear. Enter in (1, alpha, alpha 66831) and press Enter.

2. Scroll down using the down arrow key and select (Download).

3. The File Group will appear, enter in (File Group.1) and press Enter.

4. Enter in the password (1, alpha, alpha, 66831) and press Enter.

5. Select (Multi-App).

6. Select (Full).

7. If a existing application exists under (Group.1), a prompt will appear (Warning: All files will be Cleared from Group 1). Select (Continue) to resume and the Terminal will remove the existing application and prepare Group.1 to accept a new download.

8. Refer to Step 2 - Section 8 for Downloading.

Deleting File Group.7:

1. Press the (F2 & F4) keys at the same time and the (Sys Mode) password prompt will appear. Enter in (1, alpha, alpha 66831) and press Enter.

2. Scroll down using the down arrow key and select (Download).

3. The File Group will appear, enter in (File Group.7) and press Enter.

4. Enter in the password (1, alpha, alpha, 66831) and press Enter.

5. Select (Multi-App).

6. Select (Full).

7. If a existing application exists under (Group.7), a prompt will appear (Warning: All files will be Cleared from Group 7). Select (Continue) to resume and the Terminal will remove the existing application and prepare Group.7 to accept a new download.

8. Refer to Step 2 - Section 8 for Downloading.


Step 4 - Editing the Groups:

(Use the Steps below to “Edit” the Group if you need to change a Value in the Parameter)


1. The Terminal will reboot and then press (F2 & F4) and enter in the password (1, alpha, alpha 66831) and press Enter.

2. Scroll down using the down arrow key and select (Edit Parameter).

3. The File Group will appear, enter in (Group.1) and press Enter.

4. Enter in the password (1, alpha, alpha, 66831) and press Enter.

5. The (Config.sys) will appear, press Enter to continue.

6. You will need to scroll down using the down arrow key and look for the parameters: (For example: *ZP, *ZT & *ZA) and once these parameters are found, you can edit them if the download fails due to a (Application or Terminal ID Error).

7. The (Key) will appear, press Enter to continue.

8. The Parameter (*ZP) will appear, select (Value) and enter in (18773150058) and press (Enter). If the Value is correct, using the correct (Phone Number) then you can skip this step by pressing the down arrow key to continue.

9. Select the Down Arrow key to continue.

10. The Parameter (*ZT) will appear, if the Terminal ID has changed, select (Value) and enter in the (Terminal ID) and press Enter. If the Value is correct, using the correct (Terminal ID), then you can skip this step by pressing the down arrow key to continue.

11. Select the Down Arrow key to continue.

12. The Parameter (*ZA) will appear, if the Application ID has changed, select (Value) and enter in the (*MA) and press Enter. If the Value is correct, using the correct (Application ID), then you can skip this step by pressing the down arrow key to continue.

13. The (Key) will appear, press the (Red Button) Cancel twice.

14. Scroll up using the up arrow key and select (Download).

15. The File Group.1 will appear, if not, select (Group.1) and press Enter.

16. Select (Full).

17. Select (Modem).

18 Select (Start)

19. The Terminal will now contact the VeriCentre Server and begin to download eFresh into Group.7 & VMAC into Group.1. Once the download completes, press Enter and the Terminal will reboot and load directly into the VMAC menu where you will be able to choose the Payment or eFresh Application to start.
